Clinical expertise met with a deep, compassionate understanding
What is psychodynamic psychotherapy?
An explorative, psychotherapy that helps people understand their underlying thoughts, feelings and relationship patterns. These develop from life experiences and unconscious processes. Psychodynamic psychotherapy helps to make sense of current difficulties through reflective, collaborative conversations in the context of a safe, trusting therapeutic relationship.
Who is it helpful for?
This type of therapy is suitable for those who are curious about their inner world and would like to explore how their past experiences affect their current life, with a view that there may be deep-seated causes for their distress. In psychodynamic psychotherapy we recognise that this exploration can take time and a longer commitment may be required to work through difficulties.
Psychodynamic psychotherapy can help with anxiety, depression, relationship problems, grief, complex or childhood trauma, feelings of "being stuck" or loss of meaning in life, stress from life transitions or work, struggles with identity, physical symptoms with a psychological cause.
